Location: Guildford
Salary: £23,334 to £24,771
Post Type: Full Time
Closing Date: Sunday 07 July 2019
The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Surrey is a recognised world-leader in biosciences research and currently supports 4000 students in a variety of teaching environments. In the latest UK research excellence framework we were rated one of the top eight UK institutions for biosciences, health and veterinary research.
We are looking to recruit a skilled laboratory technician, who will operate under the direction of the research laboratory manager.
An exciting opportunity has become available to work alongside academics in fields of food, nutrition and exercise sciences, involving the analysis ofclinical samples from nutritional and metabolic studies and supporting dry- and wet-lab project students within the department. As such, we are looking for a highly motivated technician with an interest in nutrition and exercise sciences to join the team.
This position would suit someone with excellent attention to detail, lab/project experience and an interest in nutrition and exercise research and development. Previous experience of nutritional and biochemical assays would be beneficial to the successful applicant, although training will be provided.
In addition to further developing existing knowledge and skills in nutritional and metabolic assays; this position will provide opportunities to work alongside an experienced team of laboratory technicians from a range of backgrounds, attend research seminars and build professional contacts across the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences.
There is a generous annual leave entitlement. Our benefits package also includes an exclusive discounted membership package to the Surrey Sports Park and an on-site nursery.
