The University of Bristol is seeking an English specialist to work as a Lecturer for the Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Secondary English, in the School of Education. The position is available on, fixed term basis, at 0.2 FTE from the 2nd September 2019 until the 31st July 2020 . The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a small and dedicated English team within the Secondary PGCE team as a whole; and as part of a network of professional and associate tutors in partnership schools. We share a common concern to educate the next generation of outstanding teachers.

Excellent teaching, creativity in the classroom, and an interest in educational theory and research will be valued at Bristol, where we prize these attributes. You will have substantial experience of teaching English in British schools, and will be familiar with the regulatory and professional environment in which teachers operate. Your demonstrable interest in supporting the development of colleagues will have prepared you for a role in formal teacher education. Evidence of scholarly work, postgraduate qualifications or the desire to attain them, will be especially welcome.

It would also be desirable to have experience of school partnership and to understand how school placements are managed, as this may be an additional part of this role.

The closing date for applications is midnight on 30 June 2019. It is expected that the final selection process will be held as soon as possible following the closing date.
