We are inviting applications for a Finance Team Manager to work as part of a team supporting the faculty of Arts. This is a brand new role within the faculty and is a great opportunity to shape a new team (expected to be 2 members of staff) and implement processes from a clean slate, drawing on experience and knowledge from colleagues in the wider Finance team.

You will be effectively managing daily processes and tasks, providing a high level of customer service to service users. Reporting into the Faculty Finance Manager, you will work closely with other teams in the Faculty to ensure that new roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood, and that the team is established and effective within a short period of time.

As a Finance Team Manager, you will lead a team to ensure that financial transactions (including expenditure and income processing, accounting transactions and project administration) are completed in line with the Universities processes. Your team will be responsible for handling purchasing, expenses, travel booking and other financial administration. It will be necessary to ensure financial control, overall compliance with relevant financial regulations, and meet internal and external reporting requirements.

The University has gross income of £664m per annum with an operating surplus of £25m. As a not-for-profit organisation, all of the income we generate is redirected into providing high quality teaching for our students and the delivery of our world-class research. The University is organised into five Academic Faculties who deliver this teaching and research (Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, and Medicine & Health Science) and numerous Professional Service Departments who provide the support and infrastructure to enable it.

At the University of Nottingham, we aim to give you all the support you need to nurture your talent, develop and reach your professional and personal career goals. We are committed to providing competitive employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a University employee, you will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance and a highly attractive pension scheme.

This full time position is offered on a permanent contact. Job share arrangements may be considered.
