The Office of Research Enterprise provides professional and expert support services to facilitate research excellence and knowledge transfer at the University. It is also at the forefront in executing the University‘s research strategy. The Research Development and Innovation group (RDI) sits within the Office and functions to promote and develop the University’s research performance and profile by actively: (i) identifying research funding opportunities and supporting applications for funding, prizes and awards; (ii) seeking opportunities for engaging with industry, the community and other University stakeholders; and (iii) demonstrating research impact in its broadest sense.
About the opportunity
Under the direction of the Deputy Director, Office of Research Enterprise, and working closely with the Associate Dean (Research), you will pursue new opportunities to involve UWA researchers in internal and external research collaborations.
- Initiating and maintaining programs of work that create collaborations opportunities for UWA researchers.
- Promoting the faculty's research strengths and work with researchers to match them with funding opportunities.
- Supporting and editing grant writing, proposal development and result reporting across projects.
- Leading and managing a team of research support professionals.
You will support the preparation of major bids, including developing business cases and budgets and you will assist with the negotiation of significant external partner contributions for grants involving multiple partners.
To succeed in this role, it is essential that you possess experience in research as a manager or practitioner, including experience in securing funding. You will also be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the Higher Education policy and of the national research funding landscape, as well as experience relating to technical specialists across multiple disciplines and providing advice to staff at all levels. Excellent writing skills, project management skills and leadership skills are also required.
