CIS is a friendly, but demanding department, where much is expected and can be achieved by competent, self-motivated individuals who are demonstrable in their team work ability.

The role has responsibility for Service Asset & Configuration Management and is part of the Service Management team, which underpins the delivery of customer focused services supported by efficient processes and measurable service level agreements.
This will involve working with CIS associates and customers across the University to ensure that informed decisions are taken, in order to ensure the University is making the most effective use of its service assets, with a strong emphasis on management and licensing of software. This will include vendor liaison, annual contract review/renewal, budget forecasting and sensitivity analyses; ensuring that processes are followed and that relevant reporting and documentation associated with the process is produced.

The role will contribute to the design and ongoing roadmap of the Service Management toolset to ensure that Service Asset & Configuration Management is represented and the associated processes and procedures are correctly utilised.

The role requires an appreciation of ITIL V3 framework and lifecycle, a passion for process compliance, excellent engagement and communication skills, ability to motivate and coach staff along with a drive to ensure that IT service disruption is minimised at all times and that key business critical periods are protected.
