The Institutional Research Manager must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to lead institutional research in alignment with the mandate of the Department of Institutional Excellence and the mission and vision of the College.

Duties & Responsibilities:    
The position of Manager of Institutional Research  requires a skilled, energetic and enthusiastic leader, who will lead a team of institutional research and business intelligence specialists and manage all aspects of institutional research, including the collection of primary and secondary data, data analysis, and information reporting. Under the leadership of the Director, the manager of institutional research will work with all stakeholders to promote and support a culture of data-driven and evidence-based strategic planning, policy development and decision making across the College, and contribute to the development of a College wide data analytics strategy.
 

Candidates applying to this position should have an outstanding record of Institutional Research experience or in a related field, and possess the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role of Institutional Research Manager.

The successful candidate will   contribute to the formulation of CNA-Q’s strategy, lead the development and implementation of Institutional Research’s business plan in alignment with CNA-Q’s strategy. He/she will lead the utilization of institutional data including student data, faculty and employee data, educational programs data, and administrative and support services data to provide accurate and reliable information and insight to support sound planning, policy making, institutional effectiveness assessment, continuous improvement, and evidence-based decision-making within CNA-Q, as well as compliance reporting to relevant government agencies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of statistical methodologies and analytical procedures to collect and interpret statistical data, and calculate statistical indicators. He/she will plan, design and manage implementation of surveys to ensure accuracy in data gathering and preparation in alignment with CNA-Q’s policies, procedures and processes.
 

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and disseminating institutional research outcomes and related materials. The successful candidate will be required to provide professional development support to and perform periodic performance reviews of direct subordinates and contribute to the overall  Department of Institutional Excellence workforce development plan.

Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management is required.
Master degree is preferred.
 

Experience:
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Institutional Research or related field.
2 years of managerial experience.
 

Language:
Fluency in written and spoken English language.

Other Required Skills:
Strong leadership and technical skills with the ability to apply technical knowledge and provide sound comprehensive advice is required. A desire to achieve organizational success and to lead by example is required. A proactive can-do attitude to work and time management is essential. Resource management, quality and risk management and ability to coaching and mentoring is essential. Knowledge of environmental scan analysis and benchmarking, data analysis and reporting is required. Knowledge of survey design and administration is required. Experience and skills with data sourcing, data modeling, and data mining is required. Knowledge of data warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Data Science is an asset. Ability to build positive relationship and effective working relationships with all stakeholders is required. A commitment to ongoing self-development and staying current of professional trends and institutional research trends is required. Candidates should demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English language is required. Fluency in Arabic language is an asset.
