Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF)/Assistant Research Officer (ARO) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 495711), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year temporary basis for PDF, or on a two-year fixed-term basis for ARO.

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research or equivalent in public health, social sciences, or related disciplines, with at least one year’s experience in community-based research, public health research and population sciences research. They should have experience in community health promotion, and/or knowledge of the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in research. They should also have the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team; the ability to work closely with external parties, including academics, social service groups, politicians, etc.; and excellent written and spoken communication skills.

The appointee will work for the Jockey Club SMART Family-Link Project, with the aim to promote family well-being by leveraging ICT for innovative family services.  He/She will coordinate research design; liaise with community parties and institutions; plan, develop and conduct community-based interventions and training programmes for local social service practitioners and professionals; facilitate the collection of big data; oversee data collection and management; write scientific publications and reports; supervise research staff members; and perform other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. For ARO, the appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
