We have an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment Manager to join an experienced and passionate team of Recruitment and Talent consultants and shape the future of this function at Edinburgh Napier University. Since centralising our recruitment function two years ago, we are looking for someone to drive, develop and embed our strategies in line with the University's ongoing strategy, values and behaviours.

Recruitment sits within the Human Resources team in our People and Services Directorate. We support all attraction and recruitment of both fixed term and permanent contracts within our Academic and Professional Service support areas; which in turn supports Edinburgh Napier's strategy to deliver an excellent, personalised Student experience and building our academic reputation through teaching and research.

The role

As the Recruitment Manager, you will have full ownership of the recruitment and talent agenda, and be the driving force behind Edinburgh Napier University being an employer of choice, where we attract the best talent, with values and behaviours in line with our culture.

You will also lead, develop and motivate the existing team, with responsibility for the development of the team through support in setting SMART objectives, ensuring a high performing culture and participation in our personal development programme My Contribution.

This role requires you to strategically plan all recruitment activity and consider a range of innovative approaches to recruitment including developing a full suite of recruitment options such as internet and social media presence via tools such as Linkedin and negotiating partnership arrangements with advertising platforms.

The role is primarily based at our Sighthill Campus however there will be travel across all three of our Campuses.

Who we are looking for

You will have extensive prior recruitment or leadership experience in an in-house function, enjoy working in a fast paced environment, preferably in Further or Higher Education. You must be a strong communicator with the ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Someone who is passionate about driving change, with the ability to set clear achievable objectives. You will have a focus on delivering excellent customer service with demonstrable process improvement experience and enjoy developing, delivering and reporting on agreed efficiency targets and KPIs whilst managing service delivery improvements such as time to hire, satisfaction of manager and candidate experience.

Candidates must have:

  • A Degree or CIPD qualification (or MIRP with proven personal development)
  • Significant internal recruitment experience within academia or private sector at a senior level
  • Experience in leading a team within a recruitment or talent function
  • Demonstrable experience using and designing innovative solutions to attraction challenges faced by Higher Education
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and implement strategy.

Desirable attributes:

  • Experience of writing and managing papers/ proposals or strategies for high level boards or committees.
  • Desire to work as part of a bigger team who work together to achieve broader goals

Salary: GBP 39,609 - GBP 48,677 per annum Grade 6
