The University is seeking exceptional candidates for the post of Professorial Teaching Fellow in the Department of Sociology. The postholder will be responsible for the strategic development of the Department’s courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. For this post you will have extensive experience of developing thriving social science courses across different platforms and modes of delivery, including blended and distance learning. You should have a proven track record of successfully undertaking senior administrative roles and making substantial contributions to the administration of academic departments, including quality assurance and enhancement of teaching, curriculum development and innovation (including liaising with external organisations), undertaking market research for potential new courses, and developing teaching policy and practice. You should have a substantial portfolio of high-quality publications. In addition, there should be a willingness to teach across programmes in the areas of criminology, sociology and media & communications. Expertise in criminology/criminal justice is desirable, but not essential.
