Role Description

Cranfield is a world-renowned, exclusively postgraduate University specialising in Creating Leaders in Technology and Management and we are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our busy Research Finance Claims & Monitoring Team.

This individual will support the existing team with post award research funding, consultancy and large project accounting and will be responsible for the production of all invoices and claims, preparing for and dealing with contract audits, reviewing contract progress and highlighting variances and issues whilst also assisting with the budgeting and forecasting of future expenditure.

The ideal candidate will already hold or be willing to work towards the AAT qualification (or equivalent) or will be able to demonstrate they have the prior experience required to perform this role. Previous experience gained from working in a large complex organisation or Higher Education institution is essential as is the ability to manage your own time to ensure you can work with a high level of accuracy to strict deadlines that are set.

Customer focused in your approach to work you will have excellent interpersonal skills allowing you communicate both orally and in writing with key stakeholders across the University, our Academic colleagues, sponsors, contract partners and other third parties and you will also be able to demonstrate a high level of computer literacy in all Microsoft applications. Previous experience of using our Finance system, Agresso, would be an advantage.
