Job description

Our School prides itself in having an inclusive ethos and provides a welcoming and supportive environment for all of our students and staff.  As a result our gender balance figures are better than those for other Schools in our discipline across the UK. In line with our own aims to improve representation, progression and success for all, we are currently holding a Silver Athena SWAN Award.

We are seeking a highly-motivated post-doctoral research fellow for a three-year period in the field of biomaterials development and evaluation to join the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen's University Belfast. As part of the Bioengineering Research Group, the researcher will support activities in a new project, funded by Dunhill Medical Trust. This will explore the potential of controlled strontium release from resorbable devices to improve osteoporotic fracture fixation.

The researcher will work in a multidisciplinary team with researchers from the Materials and Advanced Technologies for Healthcare (MATCH) Pioneer Research Centre. This post offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for working at the cutting edge of biomaterials development to contribute to solutions for the next generation of orthopaedic fixation devices.
