Detailed Description

The person in this role is tasked to assist in the development and implementation of the promotion of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia and its programmes in Malaysia. 
Duties and responsibilities include working on the development and content of online advertising, digital marketing, website management and content development, press releases, articles, white papers, corporate videos and marketing collateral. 
The person in this role may also aid in the preparation of presentations and/or speeches geared toward employees or external parties for the management and will act as a key point of contact for HWU corporate communication. 
This role reports to the Marketing & Corporate Communications Manager and will be based at the University's campus in Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia. 

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will be member of a team of professionals with responsibility promoting the Heriot-Watt University brand and related products in Malaysia. S/he will work in close partnership with the HWU Marketing and Communication teams and recruitment and academic staff across campus and wider University, as well as liaising with schools, colleges and sometimes, directly with applicants. 
S/he will also be expected to manage & participate in recruitment activities such as Open Days and Higher Education exhibitions, and to support other Registry activities in a professional and flexible manner. This varied role requires the exercise of independent judgement and initiative, strong administrative and excellent interpersonal skills. 
20% of this role will involve liaising and working with our alumni network in ASEAN.

The candidate will be required to update the CRM database, and provide marketing and communications support for alumni engagement and events. 
Marketing 
External & Internal 
Working to brand guidelines established for the University and as directed by the Director of Marketing and Communication (HWU) promote the Heriot-Watt University brand in Malaysia. 
Manages the administrative process and assist the Marketing & Communication Manager in the development of student recruitment campaigns and communication channels for HWUM. 
Work with the Student Recruitment Team(s) to establish marketing and communication needs to assist in recruitment activities. 
Will be required to self-directing at times – taking directions from the Marketing & Corporate Communications Manager. 
Events Management 
External 
Manage the administrative process involve in bookings/ reservations and implementation of marketing events to aid student recruitment 
Provide administrative support and manage RFP from event organisers and vendors to aid the development of booths at marketing events (e.g. education fairs & roadshows) 
Manage the delivery of marketing materials and set-up at recruitment events. 
Internal 
Assist in the organisation of events at the HWUM campus to create awareness and brand the university (e.g. bringing high schools to campus, seminars, talks, events – Open Days) 
Communications 
External 
Work with the Marketing & Corporate Communications Manager to develop, implement and manage public relations to effectively manage the University reputation in Malaysia. 
Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager Manage and maintain relationships with the media (print & digital) to ensure regular and consistent positive coverage for HWUM. 
Internal 
Assist and contribute in the development of internal communication channels (print & digital) for staff and students of HWUM and ensure that the right information is disseminated correctly and timely.
