Position Summary

As an experience Research Assistant, you will conduct research activities with the aim of meeting Universitys research strategy. You will work independently to further advance your skills and experience in Civil & Infrastructure Engineering areas. To be successful in this position, you will have a PhD in Civil Engineering or related background equipped with experimental and analytical skills. Additional, you will have working knowledge in mathematical modelling and report writing experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct, assist and provide high quality research in developing excellent research strategy according to the aims and objectives of University.
  • Conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision both independently or as a member of a team, including publishing and presenting research outputs at conferences and research forums and contributing to external research funding submissions.
  • Contribute 10% of your time to supervise and mentor undergraduate students

Skills and Experience Required

  • PhD or commensurate experience in the areas of Civil Engineering or related background
  • Demonstrated experience and in-depth expertise with concrete material testing
  • Proven track record of published research work in reputable journals, conference and technical report
  • Strong verbal communication and written skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem-solving on complex situations and the ability to conceptualise ideas to produce results
  • Passion and ability to build strong relationships across all levels of professional staff within the organisation.
