In support of the Department and Academic Managers, perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, preparing documents for the Department and the Dean’s office, updating and maintaining website news/highlights, and promoting departmental events. Act as a Delegate for Biology Faculty in the Concur reimbursement system, and assist with travel arrangements as needed. Coordinate department seminar speakers and prospective faculty visits, including making travel arrangements, booking hotels, gathering and disseminating speaker information, and overseeing reimbursements for those visits. Working with the Life Sciences Business office, coordinate visa applications for all foreign nationals in the department, and purchasing of departmental and laboratory goods. Act as a friendly and helpful ambassador for the department by assessing the needs of individuals walking into the administrative office, answering phones, responding to general request emails, and assisting with other tasks as needed.
A High School Diploma or GED and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
