The Department of Chemistry enjoys an outstanding reputation for the quality of its teaching, student employability and research. The Department is well equipped, has modern, recently renovated laboratories and has excellent technical support.

The role will entail the planning, resourcing and execution of a distinctive leading-edge research programme in an area of analytical chemistry and preference will be giving to candidates with experience in the area of environmental chemistry. The candidate should be able to teach core analytical and environmental chemistry at undergraduate and postgraduate level. S/he will also be required to contribute to the teaching of a wide range of skills modules, to be involved in the design and running of chemistry practical classes, to supervise undergraduate laboratory projects, and be involved in outreach activities.

The candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, be able to demonstrate a good record of academic and/or industrial leadership and achievement in scholarship and research. The candidate will show evidence of high quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
