Based at either University Park or Jubilee Campus this role will undertake all practical aspects of garden maintenance including planting a wide range of shrubs, perennials, etc and collecting litter within the designated area of work. Other duties will include the preparation, care and maintenance of amenity landscaped areas and sports grounds and the operation of horticultural and grounds maintenance machinery.

Candidates should be qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)  in amenity horticulture, or a related discipline or have substantial relevant experience, have knowledge of a range of trees, shrubs and perennials and preferably hold an NPTC – PA1 and PA6A pesticide application certificate. Candidates must also have experience in the use of compact and agricultural tractors and trailers including associated attachments. Due to the frequency with which the post holder will drive vehicles involved in grounds maintenance operations and transport materials between University sites candidates must hold a full current driving license unless disability precludes this.

This is a permanent full time post and the hours of work are 36.25 per week to be worked 5 days out of 7 to be arranged (mainly Monday to Friday) with flexibility to work weekends as required.
