PAYROLL OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, Office of the Vice President for Finance-Financial Operations, to process all on-cycle and off-cycle payments. Will issue payments with the bank and handle all related systems activities including feeds and reporting for the weekly, semimonthly, and pension payrolls during a monthly period. Will join the team responsible for generating quarterly and year-end data files for tax scrubbing and filing electronic data submissions to the Social Security Administration, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state tax authorities.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration; at least four years’ experience in financial operations, preferably in payroll; demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and relevant federal regulations, preferably those specific to research and nonprofit organizations; excellent collaboration, interpersonal, written and verbal communication, customer service, and problem identification and problem solving skills; demonstrated interest in cultivating a rich understanding of process operations outside of HR/payroll in an effort to better serve internal and external stakeholders; adaptability and flexibility; and meticulous attention to detail. Must be able to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines, reprioritizing as necessary; independently manage assigned workload; take ownership and responsibility for tasks; be attentive to the timeliness of deliverables; and communicate complex issues effectively. Seek a proactive problem- solver who is able to collaborate with team members (internal and external) and support opportunities for process and operational improvements. Advanced-level experience with SAP, Excel, database software (e.g., Brio Query, Cognos, and FileMaker) preferred; as is experience in higher education. Job #17543-6
