Position Description

The Department of South Asian Studies seeks applications for a preceptor in Sanskrit. The appointment is expected to begin on August 1, 2019. The preceptor should be prepared to offer language instruction and course development at all levels and across all genres and time periods of Sanskrit. Teaching duties will be four courses during the academic year, with responsibility specifically for elementary and intermediate Sanskrit. This is a one-year position.

Basic Qualifications

The successful applicant should have demonstrated experience in teaching Sanskrit.

Additional Qualifications

A strong graduate record in any field of Sanskrit by the time of appointment is required. A strong doctoral record is preferred, as is knowledge of a second South Asian language.
