With award-winning campuses in the United Kingdom, China and Malaysia and over 40,000 students from 150 countries across the world, the University of Nottingham is a truly global university. Our reputation for excellence is matched by our sporting pedigree, and we're proud to include numerous Olympic and Paralympic medalists and international-standard athletes among our students and alumni.

The University of Nottingham offers a sector-leading range of sporting facilities including the David Ross Sports Village opened in October 2016. The £40 million sports village provides a premier training and competition venue for elite athletes, fitness and social sport and will support us to deliver an outstanding student sporting experience combined with a top quality education.

We are seeking a dynamic, vibrant and highly motivated fitness instructor to join our experienced Health & Fitness Team to work at the David Ross Sports Village, Jubilee Sports Centre and King’s Meadow Campus Fitness Suites. As a member of the Health & Fitness Team you must have a passion for customer care and a desire to deliver outstanding service.

Daily duties will include new member inductions, fitness programme design, delivering fitness classes, giving help and guidance to members, walking the gym floor engaging, interacting and looking after the well-being and motivation of our members.  Additional duties will include making member bookings, completing facility health and safety checks, cleaning duties and organising gym events and challenges.

Successful candidates will hold a NVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in gym/fitness instructing and have experience of delivering both individual consultations and group training sessions, be enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated and have excellent communication, organisation and customer care skills with an energetic and outgoing personality.

In return, we aim to give you support to nurture your talent and reach your career goals in a friendly and professional environment. We offer a competitive salary package including a generous holiday allowance and as a University employee, you'll also enjoy access to the state-of-the-art sports facilities at David Ross Sports Village as well as our other campuses.

This is a full time, permanent position 36.25hrs per week and candidates will need to be flexible in their approach to their working hours, noting that the operational hours range between 05.30am and 11.00pm seven days a week. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Post holders may occasionally be asked to work outside of normal working hours, for some events and essential building maintenance.

The first round of interviews will take place week commencing 15th July 2019. Second interviews (for those candidates selected) will take place on 23rd or 24th July.
