Penn’s School of Arts and Sciences is world-renowned for our exceptional faculty, innovative research, and top-tier degree programs. SAS Computing is looking for a motivated, proactive, technologically adept and customer-service focused individual to join our team as an IT Support Specialist Senior. High-quality and responsive end-user support, including for School executives and senior staff, and desktop management activities are important responsibilities of the position. This will involve installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting faculty and staff computers and a diverse range of technology, for designated academic and administrative departments in the School of Arts and Sciences. Equally important to success in this position will be the ability to utilize formal project planning tools and processes, to participate in SASC projects. The position will also assist with evaluation and selection of PC/Mac hardware and software as requested by supported departments. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a busy and highly collaborative team-based environment, and provides clear and frequent communication to both colleagues and clients. As a member of the School of Arts & Sciences Computing group, the IT Support Specialist Senior will ensure that all activities are consistent with institutional standards and will participate in School-wide technology initiatives.

A Bachelor’s degree and 2 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience are required; experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, Apple MacOS/iOS, and Android-based devices, Microsoft Office and common networking and utility applications required; knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop system administration in an Active Directory environment preferred; familiarity with basic desktop hardware support and maintenance required; excellent customer service and spoken/written communication skills required; ability to work and communicate with users of varying levels of expertise required; organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks and projects utilizing formal project management tools and processes and adapt to frequent change required; ability to work independently with limited direct supervision in a self-motivated and self-directed manner required; ability to work as a member of a team required.
