The School of Engineering at Edith Cowan University (ECU) was established in 1992. It is currently one of the fastest growing engineering schools in the nation with a strong track record of success in developing and delivering quality undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs that have strong alignment with industry and promote community and environmental sustainability. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in chemical, civil, civil and environmental, mechanical, mechatronics, electrical power, electrical and renewable energy, electronics and communications, instrumentation control and automation, computer systems, petroleum, naval architecture, ocean, and marine and offshore engineering.
In addition to the standard 4-year engineering degree courses, it was the first engineering school in Western Australia to offer the ‘3+2’ model of engineering education leading to a professionally accredited Master of Engineering. ECU has been ranked in the Top 201-250 in the 2019 Times Higher Education World University Rankings for engineering and technology. Furthermore, Engineering at ECU has been rated as above world standard in the 2018 Excellence in Research for Australia evaluation by the Australia Research Council. In the discipline of Electrical Engineering, the School offers a broad range of undergraduate, postgraduate by coursework and higher degrees by research programs. The School is now seeking to appoint an academic staff for Electrical Power Engineering. We are looking for an outstanding candidate who can make a significant contribution to the School’s world-class research and teaching activities. The successful applicant will have a strong track record in research and teaching in electrical power systems, including power generation, transmission and distribution. Work experience in the power industry will be an advantage. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to leverage on the unique and world-class research facilities towards industry collaboration and high impact research outcomes. A seed funding of up to $50,000 may be provided to the successful applicant to help establish their research activities at ECU.
This position is located at the Joondalup Campus which is about 25 km north of the Perth CBD. Joondalup is a rapidly growing regional centre and supports a wide range of facilities for business, living and recreation. It is close to the northern beaches and accessible via freeway and rapid rail connections to Perth city.
