The World’s First Business School
JOSEPH WHARTON, FOUNDER

Reporting to the Director of MBA Admissions and member of a four member senior staff team, The Director of Operations will be directly responsible for the development and management of strategic initiatives for the Office of MBA Admissions. Specifically the position will oversee the continued creation and evolution of yield strategy. Additionally, the role will be responsible for management of the admissions committee and will act as a direct secondary in a close advisory capacity to the Director on matters of internal operations and data driven strategy.

The Director of Operations will be required to continually improve upon the processes set in place by the Director of Admissions and the Office of MBA Admissions as a whole and will be accountable for continual analysis of data in order to both inform and drive the strategic vision of the office. The role will be required to lead, mentor and manage five full time staff, clearly communicate expectations, work standards, and priorities to provide a strong supportive culture. Integrate and leverage training and other methods of development of high-potential employees. Provide development opportunities to challenge and inspire staff.

The position will function as a full member of the admissions committee which includes the evaluation of application materials, participation in admissions committee, interview activities, extensive marketing and group presentations to audiences domestic and international and ongoing relationship management. International and domestic travel required.

A Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s Degree preferred and 7 to 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strategic thinker with excellent communication skills. An ability to work with various stakeholders including students, prospective students, senior alumni, administrators, the press and corporate representatives. A knowledge of MBA admissions and admission trends and an ability to manage the technology of admissions. Strong and inspirational team leader ready to represent Wharton to both an internal and external audience.
