Independent Committee Member – IOSH 

As the world’s leading chartered professional body for people responsible for safety and health in the workplace - with more than 47,000 members in over 130 countries - we are seeking to recruit Independent Committee Members to join our Board Committees. 

Position: Independent Committee Member

Location: The role will require a commitment to attend four committee meetings a year near Leicester, UK, in addition to preparation time and occasional additional meetings where circumstances require it. 

Salary: The role is unremunerated, however reasonable expenses will be paid.

Duration: Committee members are usually appointed for a period of three years. 

Closing date: Wednesday 26 June 2019

Interview date: Thursday 18 July 2019

The role:
The Policy and Standards Committee is looking for an Independent Member with an education background, with experience and/or knowledge of higher education courses and professional standards, and experience of developing policies and behaviour frameworks.

The role requires experience at senior level in a business environment and/or relevant qualifications.

To ensure we have diverse and inclusive committees with different skills and perspectives, we welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds, particularly women and Black, Asian and Minority Ethic as these characteristics are underrepresented on our committees.
