Job within Dialog Unit “Chinese Peasants in Russia’s Far East” in the project Sinophone Borderlands – Interactions at the Edges (reg.no. CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/16_019/0000791)

Entrance Requirements

  • PhD in Anthropology or Sociology 
  • Proven and extensive experience of undertaking research relating to the cross-border economic practices 
  • Publications in journals indexed by WOS/ Scopus on topics relevant to discourse of land grabbing, Chinese farmers abroad, land rights and property rights for farmers abroad  
  • Proficient in qualitative field research (ethnographies, semi-structured interviews, etc.) 
  • Aptitude for and experience of international research collaboration
  • Demonstrable experience of successful research funding pursuit
  • Demonstrable experience of presenting and leading sessions at international research conferences 
  • Good command in English (min. B2)
  • Proven knowledge of Chinese or Russian language is essential

What do we offer
Research Fellow will work within a multidisciplinary team exploring how the Sinophone world interacts with the Turco-Persophone, Slavophone, Tibetophone, Hispanophone and Austroasiatophone worlds. One of direction (Dialog Unit “Chinese Peasants in Russia’s Far East”) within our diversified project is analysis of the current trends in cross-border agricultural activities between China and Russia. Publishing articles in impact journals, realizing the fieldworks, organizing workshops, attendance at the conferences.
