One Stop Counselors provide a single point of service to students who need assistance with academic records, financial aid, registration, student accounting and other related topics. The One Stop Counselor position requires an in-depth understanding of and training on university, federal and state policies regulating academic records, financial aid, registration, and student accounting. Additionally, One Stop Counselors are equipped with broad knowledge of campus resources and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Service

Serves as a customer service representative responding to questions primarily related to registration, academic records, financial aid, student accounting and other related topics.

Counsel, investigate, problem-solve, and resolve questions and issues from current and previous students, parents, faculty, staff, collegiate units, other third parties, and the public.

Liaison
Facilitates communication and creates a positive working relationship with representatives from various departments campus wide in order to resolve student issues and develop quality improvement methods; serves as a liaison between students and other campus departments to decrease the shuffle and transfer of student issues across the university.

Training & Professional Development
Participates in on-going training activities to develop a high level of knowledge and familiarity with institutional practices and policies. Assists with the training of new counselors and student workers.

Presentations

Deliver One Stop orientation presentations to students, parents, and other University staff.

Other

Performs other duties as assigned.

(Hourly Rate: $14.84 - $19.10)

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirements.
