FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATORResearch Laboratory of Electronics, to join the fiscal team of a large interdisciplinary laboratory with a diverse sponsor base. RLE submits more than 175 federal and industrial sponsor proposal submissions per year and has research activities exceeding $50M annually.  Will collaborate with the senior fiscal officer for pre-award administration on the development and submission of research proposals and act as a primary information and operations resource for principal investigators (PIs); be responsible for post-award administration for a portfolio of PIs; monitor the financial performance of active grants and contracts and provide regular updates and projections for PIs to verify the proper distribution of resources and use; provide financial analysis and oversight and prepare reports for PIs, senior administrators, and sponsors; and continually monitor accounts to ensure compliance with MIT and sponsor policies and requirements, including award close-out.  Will report to the manger for fiscal administration.

Job Requirements

REQUIREDbachelor's degree; at least three years’ accounting/finance experience; experience with federal contracts and financial administration in an academic research environment and knowledge of federal guidelines; highly proficient Excel skills and familiarity with other MS Office programs; excellent analytical, organizational, customer service, and communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; willingness to embrace learning new business methods and computational skills in a fast-paced and challenging environment; demonstrated record of assuming greater responsibility over time; and ability to work independently and as a member of a productive, collaborative and innovative team. Experience with research proposal processing and pre-award administration preferred. Knowledge of enterprise financial systems, grants management tools, and multidimensional databases a plus.  MIT, Kuali Coeus, and SAP experience highly desirable. Job #17515-7
