The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Dental Assistant to join the patient care team in Clinic Administration to support the dental clinics. The College’s Central Sterilization Unit in Clinic Administration is an important function in the health care delivery system.

This position provides sterilization/dispensing services for instruments/materials used in the College of Dentistry clinics; is responsible for decontamination, maintenance, inspection, preparation, processing and the dispatch of instrumentation, supplies and service; stocks sterile supplies and equipment kept in the department according to acceptable infection control standards; this position is responsible for quality control testing, monitoring of sterilization equipment and assisting with quarterly inventory. Hours will vary with the needs of the Central Sterilization area; may work evenings and/or weekends and provides back up coverage in the two Dispensaries as needed. Frequent lifting/pulling/pushing up to 50 lbs.; frequent bending/twisting/turning/reaching below knees and above shoulders; frequent standing/walking.
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
