Chair Professor (Ref: CPP/FHM/0519)

The University is seeking to appoint senior academics who are creative, future-oriented with a passion for their work and a willingness to lead teams of bright and young academics towards successful careers and making a positive impact in their communities.

Applicants for Professorship are expected to have a strong publication record, leadership experience, an international reputation and network, and the ability to contribute to collaborative research; applicants with less experience but demonstrate potential for leadership in research, teaching and service may be considered for Associate Professorship.  Some track records of administrative experiences are appreciated.  Candidates will be expected to participate in administrative leadership, to secure external funding, to contribute to the strategic development of academic programmes and associated student practicums, to serve the profession at large, and to teach effectively within the university.  Applicants should also have an appreciation of the rewards and challenges of working in a multicultural context.

Faculty of Humanities 

Applications / nominations are invited from the Faculty of Humanities in one of the following subject areas: Chinese Language Studies, English Language Education, Linguistics and Modern Language Studies, and Literature and Cultural Studies.
