The appointee is expected to conduct research work on structure-based drug discovery of RNA modifying enzymes associated with cancer and viral infection, and structural studies of protein-RNA complexes. The appointee will work in the laboratory of the Research Cluster for Health and Drug Discovery. By combining chemistry, biochemistry and structural biology, the research team seeks to be innovative and interdisciplinary in designing novel therapies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biotechnology;
  • Basic experience in protein expression and purification, and biochemical/biophysical assays (e.g. LC-MS/MALDI-MS/fluorescence-based assay)
  • Self-motivated and collaborative
  • Knowledge in structural biology such as protein X-ray crystallography will be an advantage

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of 6 to 12 months subject to mutual agreement.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
