Manager Clinical Pathology Laboratory
The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University is accepting applications for the position of Laboratory Manager in the Department of Veterinary Pathology’s Clinical Pathology Laboratory which performs approximately 180,000 tests per year. Clients include the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center, graduate students, researchers, and veterinarians throughout Iowa and the United States who have contracted our services.
The primary duties of this position include managing the technical, financial and administrative operations of the College of Veterinary Medicine Clinical Pathology Laboratory; acquire and supervise the professional personnel (medical technologist) and students needed to accomplish the work of the laboratory; achieve and maintain effective and productive relationships between the laboratory and other departments and divisions of the college; propose and conduct clinical testing projects in support of the research programs of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Teaching Hospital and other ISU departments; to provide reference laboratory capabilities for practicing veterinarians and other research/educational institutions; to manage the laboratory information system and to instruct graduate students on appropriate laboratory techniques.
