Established in 1865, The George Washington University Law School is the oldest law school in Washington, DC. The school is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a charter member of the Association of American Law Schools. The law school is located on the GW campus in the downtown neighborhood familiarly known as Foggy Bottom.

We are currently seeking a Senior Registration and Records Assistant, Law School.

This position typically serves as a main point of contact to provide front-line customer service and support to students, faculty, and staff in the areas of classroom scheduling, enrollment verification, registration, requirements tracking, transcripts, and degree conferral. This role may assist with manual student registrations, course drops and withdrawals, leaves of absence, study abroad registrations, transcript requests, processing graduation clearances, and similar tasks, by following established policies. This position also typically enters data and maintains student records, and may also prepare standard communications to students.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Act as main point of contact for exam matters.
  • Assist the Sr. Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs with ABA report.
  • Act as evening coverage back-up.

The position is based at GW’s Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:    

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:    

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diversity academic community.

Proficiency with personal computers and associated contemporary hardware/software applications.

Excellent records maintenance skills, and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
