How to Apply
This posting is only for candidates that have already been identified and selected as program participants. The Summer 19 application process is now closed and no other applications will be considered for the 2019 summer session. Do not apply to this posting unless you have been specifically directed to by Summer 19 program staff and/or Success Coach.
In order to apply, create a profile and fill out the required information in the application. Please note a resume and/or cover letter are not required to complete the application. If you need assistance with the process or have questions, please contact your Summer 19 Success Coach.
The Summer 19 Youth Employment program is a ten-week employment & mentorship program for youth ages 16-24. Geared for Washtenaw County youth, Summer18 provides on-the-job training that helps you:
- gain meaningful work experience and mentorship
- prepare for the career you want
- build your professional network
- gain soft skills (attendance | communication | professionalism | attire)
- learn about new industries
- learn how to manage money

The University of Michigan conducts background checks on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background checks. Background checks will be performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and may include a drug screen and/or finger printing for certain positions. You will be advised by your success coach if you need to complete a background check and any other additional screening. All Michigan Medicine positions will also require a health screening. You will be provided with specific information about this process if it is required. A work permit may also be required for high school students under the age of 18 who have not yet graduated.
