CHRR develops survey software; designs survey instruments, oversees fieldwork, and generates and disseminates fully documented data sets. We work with researchers in government, private research organizations, and universities around the world.
The Systems Developer/Engineer is a full stack Java developer position, a self-starter utilizing the latest Java/JEE, Spring, SQL, and web technologies. Passionate about software engineering and new technologies. Works independently and in teams, collaborating with IT and business analysts in maintaining legacy and/or new information systems. Following best practices and team coding standards in an optimal, consistent and error-free manner. Assessing requirements, time estimates and implementing creative solutions through SDLC methodology for business-critical applications. Responsible for Change Management following NIST 800-53 guidelines for application security; writing unit tests; performing security code analysis (web application scanning) and peer code reviews; configuration management (SCM) through Git; continuous integration (CI) through Jenkins, documenting software systems and specifications; monitor system to detect potential problems. Supporting access to large data sets for NLS and other CHRR specific projects, which includes several applications.
