The Department of Geological Sciences at New Mexico State University invites applications for a 9-month sabbatical replacement position as Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 2019. Expected salary is $48,000, commensurate with qualifications. Responsibilities include teaching three courses each semester, including Introductory Geology (face to face and online), Sedimentation/Stratigraphy, Historical Geology, and a graduate class in the area of sedimentation and stratigraphy, with participation in independent study-type courses. New Mexico State University is located in the southern Rio Grande rift, with ample examples of many geologic phenomena.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. (or ABD) status in geoscience at the time of appointment.
