Job Summary

The Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) is seeking an energetic, innovative and collaborative business systems analyst to join the enrollment technologies team. The incumbent will work closely with leadership and business experts in the enrollment management offices (and across the Ann Arbor campus) to identify and implement system requirements necessary to satisfy business requirements. The incumbent will be expected to rotate and apply expertise to several OEM projects, under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Provost for Enrollment Planning and Technology and Senior Associate Registrar.

Initially, the incumbent will serve as one of the primary functional resources in the University’s use of the Explorance product Blue for course evaluations; working with faculty and staff in the schools and colleges, Registrar’s Office, Information and Technology Services, and the Provost’s Office to ensure optimal use of the software. Immediate efforts will be to run queries to load data into Blue while completing integration project with the student information system, participate in a data warehousing project, partner with academic departments to define departmental and instructor level report requirements and build reports, develop best practices for evaluation ordering including documentation and training.

The incumbent may also lead and participate in cloud product implementations and system maintenance for all offices across OEM; including project management, vendor selection, system setup and configuration, process improvement, system test, documentation and training, integration with other university systems, ongoing system maintenance, customer support, and troubleshooting.

The incumbent will participate in Oracle Campus Solutions system project implementations in partnership with ITS.

Responsibilities*

Manages small and medium projects for both initial software implementations and ongoing system maintenance; tracking tasks, resources, and timelines.

Leads the exploration, recommendation, selection and implementation of software to meet university business requirements.

Participates in RFP process for selection of vendor to meet university business requirements.

Investigates software functionality and options in order to recommend process improvement and to optimize the unit’s use of a product’s functionality.

Tests system configurations and functionality, including building of comprehensive test plans.

Documents system functionality, including procedure and process change impacts for staff both internal and external to OEM.

Performs analysis of necessary integration with other university systems, including Oracle Campus Solutions.

Supports staff both internal and external to OEM on problems/issues with system.

Troubleshoots system issues, providing solution to the problems.

Performs system maintenance and documentation updates related to product upgrades and continuous process improvement.

Liaises between the business offices and ITS on system requirements for the University Oracle Campus Solutions SIS implementation.

Serves as a project team member on Campus Solutions system projects.

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in higher education administration and/or business systems analysis.

Demonstrated ability to understand technical information, and communicate it to others using clear, concise, and user-friendly language.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

Ability to work well in a diverse and collaborative environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desired Qualifications*

Direct experience with the Explorance Blue product.

Prior professional experience with Oracle Campus Solutions architecture and PeopleSoft applications.

Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).

Experience in website development.

Strong project management experience.
