Job Summary

The University of Michigan Department of Surgery is seeking a Research Laboratory Tech Intermediate to work in Dr. Benjamin Levi's laboratory.

Responsibilities*

This position will assist senior laboratory members on multiple research projects. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

Perform euthanasia and harvest tissue from mice.

Specimen preparation, specimen embedding, microtomy (e.g. cryo, paraffin), histological staining, and microscopy.

Perform immunohistochemistry.

Assist with flow cytometry preparation.

Basic molecular biological work (PCR, DNA extraction).

General lab maintenance (cleaning/organizing, autoclaving, etc.)

Required Qualifications*

Bachelors degree and 1-2 years experience in laboratory setting. Candidate will have previous experience in extremity trauma research (fracture healing, heterotopic ossification, muscle fibrosis and burn injury).

Additional Information

The is a one year term limited position, ending June 30, 2020, the incumbent is not eligible for RIF status.
