Overview

The South West Campus is led by the Dean, South West Campus, who is responsible for the leadership and management across the South West Campus as well as the engagement and collaboration with other sections of the University particularly in relation to regional context.

This Administrative Officer position will be a part of the South West Dean’s Office team who provide integral administration support to the Dean in matters of stakeholder engagement, campus operations, events and project activities.

The Role

We are seeking an outstanding all-rounder to effectively provide a broad range of administrative roles, functions and services to the SW Campus Dean’s Office. You will be accountable for personal performance in the provision of accurate information, advice and direction on a wide variety of administrative matters, as well as in the performance of frontline and administrative tasks.

Accountabilities may include, however are not limited to:

  • Support and assist SW Campus staff and their visitors in the accurate, positive and seamless completion of administrative activities through the provision of customer-focused services across a comprehensive range of tasks, diligent documentation and record-keeping, and the proactive support of colleagues and staff in addressing their administrative requirements as they are identified;
  • Provide timely and effective organisation of meetings including preparing agendas, collation and distribution of discussion papers and taking minutes;
  • Undertake activities, tasks and minor projects related to the areas of administration, organisational promotion and events, as required or allocated by supervisor;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of services to the Centre and its staff through active participation in process review initiatives, the sharing of relevant and applicable knowledge and the training and mentoring of new staff; and
  • Employees are required to participate in all ECU, team, and individual planning activities; comply with ECU policies and practices in all aspects of their work and conduct; and ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others by complying with OSH and EO requirements.

About You

You will have experience in providing administrative support, have completed Year 12 with subsequent experience or an equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.

You will be able to provide a sound level of customer focus, communication and interpersonal skills, whilst working efficiently and autonomously. You will have a high level of computer literacy with the ability to use standard software and database packages including, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time, fixed-term position attracts remuneration of $64,161 to $68,440 plus University superannuation contribution.
