Company

UNSW Australia’s aspiration for the next decade is to be Australia’s global university. We aspire to this in the belief that a great university which is a global leader in discovery, innovation, impact, education and thought leadership, can make an enormous difference to the lives of people in Australia and around the world.

Over the last 66 years UNSW has made contributions across the spectrum of science and the humanities. Among many achievements, UNSW has led via transformative social policy and public law and has contributed hugely to the cultural, artistic and intellectual life of our community, while also pioneering the global development of solar energy technologies, helping to control devastating epidemics such as HIV, developing new therapies for depression and anxiety, and making previously unimaginable breakthroughs in quantum computing.

UNSW is a founding member of the Group of Eight, a coalition of Australia's leading research-intensive universities, and of the prestigious international network Universitas 21. With more than 50,000 students from over 120 countries, it is one of Australia’s most cosmopolitan universities.

The main UNSW campus is located on a 38-hectare site at Kensington, seven kilometres from the centre of Sydney. Other major campuses are the Art & Design campus in the Sydney suburb of Paddington and UNSW Canberra at the Australia Defence Force Academy.

In addition to UNSW Canberra at ADFA, UNSW has eight Faculties -  Art & Design; Arts & Social Sciences; Built Environment; Business School; Engineering; Law; Medicine; and Science  – which  offer an extensive range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs.

UNSW prides itself on the calibre of its people, from internationally recognised academic leaders in their field to talented professionals providing technical expertise and infrastructure.
