Department Summary
The Procurement Manager-Facilities manages all procurement related activities, including developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive strategic sourcing program, overseeing contract administration, and managing document retention responsibilities within UAB Facilities. Position provides leadership to the Facilities Materials Procurement Specialist/Expenditure team.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manages all Procurement, including record retention, activities for the Facilities Division
Acts as liaison to UAB’s Accounts Payable/Procurement/Expenditure Review departments for the Facilities Division
Provides training and troubleshooting functions to all members of Facilities Division related to the Purchasing/Procurement activities
Oversees a comprehensive electronic record retention program in conjunction with Facilities IT
Develops and refines standards for retention for all document types, in adherence with the University’s policy
Manages all physical records (including those at the warehouse facility) to ensure ease of access and proper disposal
Develops, implements and manages a comprehensive strategic sourcing program for the Facilities Division
Works with Procurement to establish vendor(s) via bid process, negotiates terms and conditions with all vendors, and monitors and reports strategic sourcing results to management
Monitors Facilities’ overall strategic sourcing initiative and works with Directors to expand and enhance the program
Actively pursues robust sustainable purchases
Administers all Facilities’ contracts request to ensure completeness and accuracy
Facilitates contract request through internal approval process and follows up with internal customers on contract approval status
Annual Salary Range for Offer: $57,970.00 - $72,000.00 (Commensurate with experience & qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Required to possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform tasks requiring climbing stairs, bending, stooping, sitting at a computer for long periods of time, kneeling, and extensive walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:
Must maintain a valid driver’s license, issued in the United States. Motor Vehicle Record will be obtained and reviewed at least annually. Driving record should meet university underwriting standards to drive vehicle in performance of University business.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of Oracle Finance applications
Analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
Knowledge of UAB Financial Policies & Guidelines
Ability to work as part of a team
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, utilizing good judgement and appropriate decision making skills
Strong ethics, with the ability to manage confidential data
Proven knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proven ability to lead a team
Effective leadership and exceptional customer service skills
Detail oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Organizational and presentation skills
Effective written and communication skills
Ability to present innovative ideas and solutions
