Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT)

Part time post , 14.4 hours per week, Wednesday and Thursday

Are you an experienced mental health profession (Senior Well-being practitioners, clinical / counselling psychologist or high intensity therapist)? Would you like to develop your academic career; contributing to teaching on the Advanced Practice in Psychological Wellbeing programme at the University of Surrey? If so, we are looking for someone to join the programme on a part-time basis (two days per week); providing the perfect opportunity for the right candidate to continue their clinical work whilst also helping to develop the knowledge and skills of trainee psychological wellbeing practitioners.

The role is a part-time position working on the Advanced Practice in Psychological Wellbeing programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and delivery of lectures both at the University of Surrey campus in Guildford as well as at our training location in Maidstone. Other responsibilities will include being a professional tutor for a number of trainees, trainee recruitment, mid-way review visits (across venues in Sussex, Surrey and Kent) and service liaison.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinical / counselling psychologist / high intensity therapist/ Senior PWP who has a strong desire to pursue a career in education. The successful candidate will also demonstrate themselves to be an autonomous, motivated individual who is able to act on their own initiative. A willingness to travel and experience of working in primary care (potentially within the IAPT initiative) is desirable; as is experience of teaching / training (although this is not essential).

The campus provides a pleasant working environment with close links to road and rail transport.
