Pro-rated salary range: £12,250 - £13,440 per annum

The Part-time Library Assistant is the first point of contact for Richmond University’s students, faculty and staff at the library issue and enquiry desk and provides them with effective and efficient customer services at all times. Other responsibilities include assisting with library orientation, performing stock routines such as shelving and shelf tidying, assisting in maintaining the library software and duties associated with stock acquisition and library administration.

An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work and to promoting the libraries to the University community combined with strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people are required.  Excellent organisational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and on-line resources are essential. This is an ideal job for someone interested in working in Libraries and/or studying toward becoming a qualified Librarian or Library Assistant.  

The Part-time Library Assistant is required to work at the University’s Richmond and Kensington Campuses on a schedule to be agreed with the Head of the Library Service. The hours offered by this post are an average 24.5 hours per week with agreed variations across the academic calendar.  Your shift rota will include daytime, evening and weekend working during the semester. During the semester the libraries’ opening hours are: 
Monday-Thursday 9am-10pm, Friday 9am-5pm and Sunday 2pm-10pm.
