Director of Admissions (circa £45k plus benefits)

The Governing Body of Trinity Hall is seeking to elect a new Director of Admissions.  Trinity Hall strongly believes that no barriers should prevent access to education and extra-curricular activities at the highest level. The College admits undergraduate students with the strongest intellectual potential, through a fair admissions process, irrespective of school, family or financial background, race, religion or disability.  The Director of Admissions will manage these initiatives as well as encouraging applications from under-represented demographic groups in close co-operation with the Admissions Officer, Schools’ Liaison Officer and Admissions Assistant.  The Director of Admissions will also be responsible for planning and managing postgraduate Admissions to Trinity Hall.

The successful candidate will be appointed to a Staff Fellowship and will possess a strong academic record, hold a PhD degree, have prior experience in a higher education admissions-related role and will, ideally, also remain research active.  The role has no teaching requirements, although provision could be made, subject to time constraints and the College’s current teaching needs.  The Director of Admissions will manage all College admissions-related activity through liaison with the Senior Tutor, Graduate Tutors, Director of Studies and other College Fellows.  This is a full time role, with particularly intense commitment required for a number of weeks at key stages in the annual admission cycle, offset by quieter periods at other times of the academic year.  If required, residential accommodation is available to the successful candidate for up to three years.

Further particulars of the post are available at www.trinhall.cam.ac.uk/vacancies

Applications (comprising a letter, application form including the names of three referees and curriculum vitae) and all enquiries should be marked “Private and Confidential” and addressed to Kate Bradley, Trinity Hall, Cambridge, CB2 1TJ; or by e-mail to academic-jobs@trinhall.cam.ac.uk

Applications should arrive no later than noon on 17 June 2019
Interviews will take place on Monday 1 July 2019 with the successful candidate taking up office on 1 September 2019.
