Duties
Under the supervision of the Clinical Service Lead perform all duties related to patient handling and restraint during clinical procedures and patient treatments, jog horses in hand and lunge for lameness and neurologic exams. Perform general patient care including but not limited to: feeding, grooming, applying standing wraps and recognizing patient comfort. Assist in the operation of the high speed treadmill; help prepare horses for treadmill examinations which may include: harnessing, catheter preparation, applying protective exercising equipment, etc. Assist with other areas within the hospital where needed, to include holding and restraining horses for various imaging diagnostics (i.e. upper airway endoscopies, radiology, nuclear medicine, and robotic CT).
Position located in Kennett Square – No public transportation available.
Qualifications
High school graduate, with a minimum of 2 years experience working with horses, accomplished and comfortable with horses and their behavior. Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively required. Must be able to communicate both orally and written. Must be able to work well with others. Computer skills required. Weekends and holidays are required.
