The University of Lincoln is a forward-thinking, ambitious institution in the heart of a thriving, beautiful and friendly city.

The University of Lincoln is seeking to appoint an Intern for 12 months to support student engagement and experience within the College of Social Science. Specifically, this role will work alongside the College Director of Education and our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team to develop initiatives aimed at exploring differential attainment within our student community. By seeking innovative solutions that can be embedded within our practices, the Intern will liaise with key stakeholders, and support academic teams.

We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate with excellent organisational skills and a strong interest in student engagement, project co-ordination and partnership working. The ability to work on a variety of projects at one time and manage a busy workload is essential.

Responsibilities will include working across and beyond the college engaging with academic, and professional service colleagues, as well and undergraduate and postgraduate students. The role will involve developing projects that aim to address known attainment differences and supporting outreach activities, marketing and networking events, and academic school activity.

In addition to the role, you will also join the University's intern development programme, ‘The Lincoln Award (Graduate Interns)’. This is an integrated programme and will include a range of workshops and group organisational project. The aim of the programme is to help you build up your key transferable skills as well as developing you both personally and professionally. The programme enables you to build a personal portfolio, allowing you to reflect on your learning and development throughout your employment with us.

It is expected that the successful candidate will fully engage in the development programme as part of this graduate intern role.

Please note you do not need to have completed the Lincoln Award at undergraduate level to apply for this position.

The appointment is offered on a fixed term basis with a planned end date of one year from start date and is fixed term due to the post being a one-year internship. We are looking for a start date of Monday the 2nd September 2019.

This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2.
