The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Division, Psychology, the position of Assistant Manager, University Psychology Clinic is responsible and accountable for supporting the Clinic Manager in the provision and management of psychological services within the University Psychology Clinic (UPC).

Key Accountabilities:

  • Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
  • Contribute to postgraduate training in psychology by assisting the Clinic Manager in the provision of high-quality placement experiences and supervision for provisional psychologists enrolled in postgraduate psychology programs at the University of Tasmania.
  • Contribute to the operational management of the University Psychology Clinic and supporting the Clinic Manager in the evaluation of clinical services and professional training, and strategic planning for the clinic. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links both within the University and locally and nationally within the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, industry and/or the wider community.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • A Master of Psychology (Clinical).
  • Current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with an area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology and a Board-approved supervisor) with no conditions, undertakings or reprimands.
  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience as a clinical psychologist.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of APAC standards and guidelines related to training in clinical psychology and APAC core capabilities.
  • A strong record in, and continuing commitment to, training in clinical psychology and active engagement in continuing professional development.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,572 comprising base salary within the range of $93,711 to $111,600 plus 17% superannuation.
