The Department of Athletics is seeking a Sports Dietician. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Athletic Director.
The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).
The role of the Sports Dietitian is to provide optimal nutrition using effective strategies and techniques for the health and performance of student-athletes on all intercollegiate teams. Primary responsibilities include nutrition counseling, outreach, and education for student-athletes. Collaborates with training table food service staff to develop and implement a comprehensive plan to provide meals and snacks to enhance lifelong health, fitness, and optimal performance. Collaborates with sports medicine, strength and conditioning and food service staff to enhance prevention of eating disorders and substance abuse among OSU student-athletes. Communicates with team coaches and support personnel including sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and food service. Supervises and evaluates use of nutritional supplements, including herbal supplements, for legality, safety, quality, and efficacy. Monitors inventory and proper usage to ensure rules compliance.
