CQUniversity Student Residences offer students a safe, secure and harmonious community lifestyle and are currently searching for a Residential Maintenance Officer at our Rockhampton North campus (Capricornia College). We offer a generous six weeks leave including a period of closure over Christmas and New Year. With staff development as a primary consideration, we provide each employee with numerous in-house training options and personal study support, as well as opportunities for career growth.

Within this position, you will maintain the Student Residence property including repairing, painting, servicing, and conducting minor building and furniture repairs. With an understanding of Microsoft excel, you will develop a maintenance schedule, and oversee the repair work of contractors to ensure compliance with University policies and legislation. You will also assist with staff management and workload allocation.

Position Requirements:

  • Have a broad understanding of all preventative and corrective maintenance-related duties.
  • Building related trade certificate within the fields of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience working in compliance with Workplace, Health and Safety requirements.
  • Skills in painting, minor repairs, servicing tools, and utilising Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate and undertake maintenance work.
  • Proven time management skills with initiative to make decisions under minimal supervision.
