The School of Allied Health Sciences, one of eight Schools in Griffith Health, is located at the Gold Coast and Nathan campuses. The School offers academic programs in the areas of Exercise and Sport, Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Counselling and Speech Pathology. Research within the School is supported by the Menzies Health Institute Queensland and the Health Group. In addition, the School of Allied Health Sciences houses the Allied Health Clinics, which provide dietetics, exercise physiology, physiotherapy and speech pathology clinical services to the public, as well as providing opportunities for the clinical education. As an academic in the School of Allied Health Sciences, the successful applicant will be an innovative teacher and researcher in the Discipline of Exercise and Sport, and contribute to the University, discipline and community through service roles.
The role involves academic leadership and the promotion of excellence in research, teaching and service and engagement in Exercise and Sport. The position will include leadership of the Discipline of Exercise and Sport within the School of Allied Health Sciences and involve supervision of Exercise and Sport staff. The Discipline Lead (Exercise and Sport) role involves oversight of all programs offered within the Discipline including the Bachelor of Exercise Science, Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology, the Bachelor of Sport Development and associated honours programs.
This is a continuing, full time position based at the Gold Coast campus; however the successful candidate will be expected to travel to other campuses of the University.The successful candidate will have an underlying Professorial (Level E) appointment and also be expected to undertake a 3 year term as the Discipline Lead (Exercise and Sport). The timing of the Discipline Lead component of the role is open to negotiation.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience and an outstanding track record in high level academic leadership, learning and teaching, and research and community engagement in Exercise and Sport.
A salary package that includes a base Professorial salary of $179,288 per annum, and an employer superannuation contribution of 17% of base salary will be offered. Attractive salary packaging arrangements are also available.
