Senior Programmer Analyst - Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences


Department Summary:
The Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences is engaged in interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding, monitoring, predicting, and optimizing the perceptual and cognitive performance of individuals and small teams engaged in real-world tasks with high-stakes outcomes. We are a state of the art multidisciplinary research center which uses a variety of software packages from robotics, electrophysiology, to virtual reality.
Job Summary:
The Senior Programmer Analyst will provide broad technical support related to the research and development functions of the Center. The purpose of this position is to develop, support, and maintain augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) software and hardware at CABCS and integrate existing technologies and measurement devices into CABCS AR/VR systems to support state-of-the-art human sciences experimentation.
Experience with the following:
Software development (MAC OSX, Linux, C++, Java, Matlab, Python)
Hardware and measurement devices- EEG, fNIRS, eyetrackers, physiological sensors, etc.
System administration- maintain computers and networking capabilities in the Center, troubleshoot computer issues for Center staff
Develop and program content for VR and AR environments
Tinkering/Hobbyist/Maker skills to experience with: 3D printing, soldering, wiring, circuit design, use of Arduino/raspberry pi boards, etc.


Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer/Mechanical/Electrical) or Cognitive Science
Minimum 5 years of experience with software development and system administration
Preferred Requirements:
Experience managing multiple simultaneous development projects
Knowledge of scientific experiments and human subjects research
Experience programming VR and AR content
Strong organizational skills and a self-starter
