Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of sensory & consumer testing for the Sensory Evaluation Center and larger Food Science & Technology Program in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Roles and responsibilities will be fluid and dependent on what is in the Center’s pipeline. In this role, the assistant will develop a descriptive analysis program and serve as the main trainer/panel leader, recruit panelist, organize and execute acuity screening and document and report methods and results. Train on scaling, methodologies and relevant project attributes; develop sensory lexicons; build general and product specific reference libraries; document and report methods and results. Track panelist attendance and ensure safety of samples and panelists. Responsible for lab organization, maintenance, panelist database maintenance, execution of tests from design to data collection, as well as be an extension of the Center in communications with current and future clients.
